With Independence Day tomorrow, authorities across Delhi and the national capital region (NCR) are implementing strict traffic regulations to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of celebrations, especially around key venues like the Red Fort.

There will be heightened security and road closures on August 15, affecting thousands of commuters. To avoid inconvenience, travellers are urged to stay informed about the latest traffic advisories, plan their journeys well in advance and consider using public transportation options wherever possible.

Noida authorities have imposed strict regulations on the movement of commercial vehicles to manage the flow of traffic and ensure safety during Independence Day events. Heavy, medium and light commercial goods vehicles will be banned from entering Delhi from Noida from 10 PM on August 14 until the conclusion of Independence Day on August 15.

  • Goods vehicles approaching the Chilla border will be redirected to take a U-turn on the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway and use the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

  • Vehicles arriving via the DND Flyway and Kalindi Kunj will be turned back to use the Noida Expressway and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

  • In Greater Noida, vehicles from the Yamuna Expressway will be stopped at Zero Point and diverted through Pari Chowk, P3, Kasna and Sirsa to access the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
