A 15-year-old Class 9 student has been detained for allegedly sending hoax bomb threat emails to four prominent schools in Noida, causing panic and disruption on campus. The student reportedly used Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to mask his identity and IP address in an attempt to avoid attending school, according to police reports.

The affected schools — Step By Step School, The Heritage School, Gyanshree School, and Mayoor School — received threatening emails around 12:30 AM on Wednesday. School authorities immediately alerted the police upon reviewing the messages in the morning.

In response, Noida Police, along with the fire brigade, bomb squad, dog squad, and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), conducted full-scale inspections across all campuses. Students and staff were safely evacuated as a precautionary measure. However, no explosives or suspicious materials were found, and school operations resumed after the premises were declared safe.

Following a cyber and surveillance investigation, it was discovered that the emails were sent by the student using VPN technology and referencing previous online cases of fake bomb threats. The student, a resident of Sarita Vihar, Delhi, was taken into custody and presented before the Juvenile Court.

An FIR has been registered under Sections 212, 351(4), 352 of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and Section 67D of the IT Act, authorities confirmed.
